It is important to me to always be learning and building on my skills.
I am currently reading:
“The Polyvagal Theory in Therapy” By Deb Dana.
This book discusses the human body’s nervous system and how we can work with it in order to gain control and regulate our levels of arousal.

“Mindsight: The New Science of Personal Transformation” By Dan Siegel, M.D.
From Dan Siegel’s website (www.drdansiegel.com), “Mindsight is a term coined by Dr. Dan Siegel to describe our human capacity to perceive the mind of the self and others. It is a powerful lens through which we can understand our inner lives with more clarity, integrate the brain, and enhance our relationships with others.”

“Stamped from the beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America” by Ibram X. Kendi
This book details how racist ideas were formed and spread in American society. The author focuses on the life stories of 5 well-known intellectuals; Puritan Minister Cotton Mather, Thomas Jefferson, abolitionist William Llyod Garrison, W.E.B. Dubois, and activist Angela Davis. Kendi exposes the fact that racist ideas were intentionally created and stoked in order to justify discriminatory policies.
